Rocky Cordova

Rocky Cordova knows that having a seat at the table isn’t enough.

As a student at UNM, Rocky honed his lifelong interest in politics though legislative internships, guidance from professors and advisors, and by networking beyond the classroom. At UNM’s LGBTQ Resource Center, he found a second home, accessed scholarships and worked with programs and campaigns to enhance services for students.

Now, as a first-generation college graduate, he works with state campaigns and legislators to be sure the voices of the LGBTQ community are heard loud and clear. And—having worked for some of the state’s most prolific politicians—he’s able to use his unique intersectional perspective to enact meaningful change in legislative policies throughout the state.
