Erick Beltran-Chavarria

Erick Ricardo Beltran-Chavarria was born in Albuquerque and raised in the small Pueblo of San Andrés, in Chihuahua, Mexico. He enrolled at UNM to honor the sacrifices his family made to afford him educational opportunities. As a first-generation student, he knows the transition to college can
be intimidating and that New Student Orientation, or NSO,
is an essential resource.

Now, as an NSO leader himself, Erick connects immediately with incoming students. He provides an introduction to UNM that’s informative, comfortable and supportive, especially during these uncertain times.

Erick gives students the same opportunities and guidance he was given, ensuring every future Lobo is welcomed with open arms. Because he knows these sessions are vital to their college success. He and other NSO leaders provide a road map to guide students though their first steps at UNM.
